USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Ranbir Kapoor's recent release Besharam hasn't been doing all that well at the Box Office; however, we hear that Jayantilal Gada of Pen India has signed a deal for the satellite rights of the film. Interestingly though, the deal, unlike others features a positive, negative and exit clause.
As per the arrangement of the deal, the final cost of the satellite rights are subject to an increase or decrease in the film's box office collections, while at the same time leaving room for either party to walk out via the exit clause. In such case, if the film were to have a positive valuation at the box office crossing the Rs. 100 crore mark, the price tag for the satellite rights would also effectively increase. However, if there is a negative response at the box office, the rights would subsequently be devalued.
Though currently the exact value of the deal is being kept under wraps, what's interesting to look for is whether Pen India will go ahead with the deal or use the exit clause.
