More Canada Immigration visas this week
This week, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws were held in four Canadian provinces. The PNP is the primary pathway for economic immigrants to enter Canada and aims to spread the benefits of immigration across the country while helping provinces address specific labor and demographic challenges.
The PNP also includes Express Entry aligned streams, known as enhanced PNP nominations, which accept candidates from the federal Express Entry pool. Recently, the fifth and sixth Express Entry draws of 2023 were exclusive to candidates in enhanced PNP streams, with 1,366 ITAs issued in total.
On March 23rd, the Ontario PNP (OINP) held a draw for their Skilled Trades stream, issuing 746 NOIs to candidates with CRS scores ranging from 250-489. The British Columbia PNP (BCPNP) held a draw on March 21st, issuing at least 254 NOIs to candidates across six streams. The Manitoba PNP (MPNP) held a draw on March 23rd, issuing a total of 566 NOIs across various streams. On March 23rd, the Saskatchewan PNP (SINP) held two draws, inviting candidates from both the Express Entry and Occupations in-demand streams.
PNP is expected to play a larger role in Canadian immigration in the future, and provincial programs will now receive their own multi-year levels plan, allowing provinces to plan their immigration allocation years in advance. Additionally, many provinces will see an increase in future immigration allocations, including Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
