The Bank of Montreal recently conducted a general survey, which calculated that a majority of 62 per cent of Canadians have intentions of shopping on the Boxing Day. Among those, one out of every five people, i.e. 22 per cent, are hoping to shop for themselves, whereas the remaining 34 per cent are hoping to buy stuff for both themselves and others as well.
The bank announced that Alberta is going to do the most of spending today, as almost 76 per cent of the respondents, from the region, were planning to buy Boxing Day bargains. While Atlantic Canada was second in line with almost 72 per cent respondents, followed by Ontario at 69 per cent. The report claims that Quebec will perhaps be seeing the poorest average of Boxing Day shopping customers, as only 36 per cent respondents from the region told the bank survey that they had plans to shop today.
It was also predicted through the survey that mostly men will be doing more shopping in comparison with woman, as almost 66 percent men had plans of benefiting from Boxing Day sales while women remained only 58 per cent. Moreover, the bank’s survey estimated that an average Canadians has intentions of spending an almost $1,610 while shopping on the holidays this year, which will reciprocate an estimated $60 billion towards the retailers. This survey was conducted on a sample of 1,000 Canadians from Oct. 11 to Oct 16. The results are considered accurate plus or minus 3.1 per cent, 19 times out of 20.
